We are a collective of urban gardeners, growers and farmers of color. Growing together for the purpose of preserving the rich and diminished agrarian traditions of people of color in Northeast Park Hill and beyond*. Strengthening our neighborhood and rooted in our commitment to ‘cultural food’ security, food equity, and independent production, we come together to learn and share Hood food cultivation, preparation and preservation.
Established in 2009, The Eastside Growers Collective are stewards of the garden park on the northwest corner of 34th and Elm St, in Denver, Colorado. We are granted land use by Zion Baptist Church. Zion Baptist Church (zionbaptistchurchdenver.org), committed to community and stewardship, donates use of the land in exchange for the unity and beauty the garden contributes the to community.
